Foot Reflexology

Reflexology is a relaxing service that assists in alleviating stress. The theory behind reflexology is that areas of the foot correspond to organs and systems of the body. Pressure applied to the foot is believed to bring relaxation and healing to the corresponding area of the body.

What is Foot Reflexology?

Reflexology is an ancient therapy that focuses on healing in the body by activating different reflex points found in the hands and feet. Pressing on the different points in the hands and feet causes reflex responses in corresponding parts of the body, which can help promote healing.

What are the benefits?

Reflexology can address anything from headaches to sinus problems to stomach issues. If sensitivity or tenderness is experienced when an area is stimulated, it usually indicates bodily weaknesses or imbalances within the corresponding organ.

Other potential benefits:

-Cleanse the body of toxins

-Boost the immune system

-Increase circulation/reduce inflammation

-Promote healing

-Overall sense of well being

What is performed during the session?

Our reflexologist uses thumb walking to target pressure-points to restore the flow of energy throughout the body. The treatment usually focuses on the feet, but it can also include the hands and ears.

Does it hurt?

Reflexology will often hurt when the congested reflex areas are treated and in no way resembles a foot massage. As the condition improves with several reflexology sessions, so will the soreness on the corresponding reflexes

What is the difference between foot massage and reflexology?

The key difference between the two is that foot reflexology is a pressure-point based massage treatment that targets specific nerve points to heal the body, while foot massage is a relaxing massage that doesn't go beyond the feel-good after effects.

While a foot massage promotes healing in the feet, the purpose of foot refelxology is to promote wellness throughout the entire body.
